Partnership with Click A Tree
Book A Room And Plant A Tree
Engage actively for the climate when booking: This is possible thanks to the cooperation between Best Western and the partner company Click A Tree. The principle: With every hotel booking made through the Best Western website, guests can tick a box and plant a tree in Central Africa for just 4 euros. This benefits the climate, humans, and animals.
Reforestation with a few clicks
In collaboration with Click A Tree, BWH Hotels Central Europe is committed to climate action. With every booking made on the joint booking page of Best Western and Click A Tree, guests can choose whether they want to plant a tree with their booking or not. "Through our cooperation with Click A Tree, we are taking another step towards sustainability. With reforestation efforts conducted by Click A Tree worldwide, we are not only actively combating climate change but also creating habitats for endangered species and providing employment opportunities for local communities. Our collaboration benefits all our guests who value sustainable tourism and wish to engage before embarking on their journey," says Carmen Dücker, Managing Director of BWH Hotels Central Europe.
During the booking process, guests can purchase a tree for 4 euros, which will then be planted in Ghana. This initiative creates new jobs locally, counteracts unemployment among young people, and provides access to education. By planting the Best Western forest, which now consists of nearly 2,000 trees, the surface of the Earth in Ghana can be cooled, and new habitat for endangered species can be created.
„Through our cooperation with Click A Tree, we are taking another step towards sustainability. With the reforestation that our partner company carries out around the world, we are not only actively combating climate change, but also creating habitat for endangered species as well as jobs for local communities“

The Fact Check
Six good reasons for planting trees
Trees are a source of food and habitat for almost all land organisms. Planting trees provides food and homes for elephants and other animals.
Forests work like giant filter systems: trees convert carbon dioxide into oxygen - essential for the survival of us all!
Employment in poorer countries is raised, because Click A Tree does not rely on voluntary workers. In this way, the start-up is fighting poverty and hunger at the same time as climate change.
Water cycles that were interrupted by deforestation are recovering thanks to newly planted trees.
Tree canopies provide shade and protect smaller plants growing closer to the ground.
Trees improve the quality of the soil, prevent erosion, protect the earth from dehydration (desertification) and preserve smaller plants from impacts from harsh weather conditions.
